Dr. Mkombozi Vincent Mhina has developed a high level of expertise on employment law, immigration services, arbitration, intellectual property and natural resources law. He has researched and written intensively on his areas of specialization, both in the academic arena as well as business circles. Besides servicing the Firm as a Senior Partner, Dr. Mhina teaches both undergraduate and postgraduate students at the University of Dar es Salaam, in which case, his combined academic knowledge and practical experiences, adds unique values to the Firm. He is among the few Tanzanian lawyers who have intensively written on the Tanzanian Labour Laws.

Dr. Mhina’s professional career dates back to 1980 when he joined the Judiciary as Senior Court Clerk, High Court of Tanzania. He then joined the University of Dr es Salaam in 1986 as an academic, attached to the department of International Law of the then Faculty of Law, now known as School of Law.
Dr. Mhina has since taught various courses, notably, public international, law of the sea, labour law, intellectual property law, refugee law, human rights law, social security law and private international law, which include the enforcement of foreign arbitral awards and judgments
Dr. Mhina’s Ph.D. thesis is on private (transnational mass tort litigation) and public (human rights) approaches to environmental protection with emphasis on the energy (oil and gas) sector.
At FK law chambers, apart from litigation, Dr. Mhina practices in and advises on a number of areas but his specialties are labour law, intellectual property law (copyright, trademarks and patent), and environmental law.
