On 27th June 2018, the FK Law Chambers’ Team made a courtesy call to the offices of Simmons & Simmons LLP located at Citypoint, Unit 6, 1 Ropemaker St, London EC2Y 9HR. The meeting brought together Mr. Adrian Nizzola, Partner responsible for Energy, Natural Resources and Infrastructure Projects and FK's Associate Partners responsible for the taxation, energy, oil and gas portfolios, Ms. Hadija Kinyaka and Dr. Erasmo Nyika. The meeting aimed at exchanging experiences and discussing issues affecting the energy sector and how Simmons & Simmons LLP and FK Law Chambers can collaborate in bidding for various Expressions of Interests (EOIs) relating to energy and infrastructure within and outside the United Republic of Tanzania.
The meeting was expressed to be extremely successful by both parties as they were able explore the possibilities of having exchange programme for the attorneys of the two Firms. Mr. Adrian on his part informed the FK's delegation of the training and knowledge transfer opportunities that Simmons & Simmons LLP implement in the Sub-Saharan Africa. The parties agreed on exploring the areas of knowledge exchange, training and further collaboration between the two Firms.
In addition to the specific issues discussed, the meeting brainstormed general business opportunities presented by the energy sector in the United Republic of Tanzania and Infrastructure Projects for which Simmons & Simmons LLP has advised a number of governments in Africa in the implementation of such projects.
